The American Academy of Pediatrics and The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommend a child’s first dental visit occur by age 1. Your child’s dental health is extremely important to us. We provide a complimentary first time infant oral exam for patients 0-18 months of age.
Believe it or not, your child’s first impression of the dentist comes well before they ever set foot in a dental office. It actually starts during conversations about dentistry that they have with their friends and family. During these conversations, fears can be instilled in children that are usually unwarranted. These fears can stem from talk of things hurting, poking, sticking, pulling, and yanking. Contrary to popular belief, most children do not have an impression of the dentist before these thoughts are introduced to them. Because of this, we ask that you present the dental visit to your child as a fun and positive experience so that your child can have the best visit possible. This can be done by telling your child that Dr. T will be taking pictures of their teeth and that they will have their teeth counted. Simple words like easy and fun go a long way in helping children have a positive experience. Remember, at First Class Pediatric Dentistry we want your child’s visit to our office to be one of comfort and learning.
